Privacy policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

Femton Film operates this website and online store at www.femtonfilm.com, including its related products, services, content and tools (the “Services”). Our store is powered by Shopify. This policy explains how personal information is collected, used and disclosed when you browse, place an order or contact us. If these terms conflict with our Terms of Service about personal information, this Privacy Policy governs that subject.

Personal information we collect or process

Personal information means information that identifies or can reasonably be linked to a person. Depending on your interaction with us, location and applicable law, this can include:

  • Contact details such as your name, email, phone number and billing or delivery address.
  • Payment and transaction information, payment method, confirmation and order status. Payment-card information is processed through Shopify and the payment providers used in checkout.
  • Account information, credentials, preferences and settings if you create or use an account.
  • Products viewed or added to a cart, purchases, cancellations, refunds and other transaction history.
  • Information you provide in support messages and project briefs, including brand assets and business information that may contain personal data.
  • Device, browser and network information, IP address, identifiers and information about how and when you use the Services.

Where information comes from

We receive information directly from you, automatically through the Services and cookies or similar technologies, from service providers working for us, and from business or marketing partners and other third parties where applicable.

How we use information

  • Provide, personalize and improve the Services, process payments and orders, coordinate your project, deliver digital work, manage accounts and handle cancellations, refunds and support.
  • Communicate about your account, purchase or project.
  • Send marketing where permitted and show relevant advertising based on interactions with our Services or other websites, subject to your choices and applicable law.
  • Verify accounts, secure transactions, detect fraud and protect our Services and users.
  • Meet legal obligations, respond to valid legal requests, resolve disputes and enforce applicable agreements and policies.

How we disclose information

We may disclose information to Shopify and service providers that help with technology, payments, analytics, customer support, cloud storage and fulfilment. We may also share information with business and marketing partners for advertising, where you direct or consent to a disclosure, with affiliates where applicable, or in connection with a business transaction, legal obligation or protection of rights.

Marketing partners use information under their own privacy notices. Sharing for cross-site advertising may be considered “sale,” “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some U.S. state privacy laws. Where applicable, you can opt out through Your Privacy Choices.

Shopify and other service providers

Shopify collects and processes information about your use of the Services to operate and improve its services. Information may be transferred to Shopify and providers in countries other than your country of residence. Where Shopify processes information for its own purposes, Shopify is responsible for responding to rights requests concerning that processing. See Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify's Privacy Portal.

Cookies and advertising choices

Cookies and similar technologies can support essential store functions, preferences, analytics and advertising. Use available cookie controls and Your Privacy Choices to manage applicable options. Where required, consent is obtained before non-essential processing. Your browser can also offer cookie controls.

Where applicable to your location, a recognized Global Privacy Control opt-out signal is treated as an opt-out request for the device and browser sending it. If the signal can be associated with a Shopify account, the request may also apply to that account. Other “Do Not Track” signals are not recognized as described by our existing practices.

Your rights

Depending on where you live and applicable exceptions, you may have rights to access or know about your information; request correction or deletion; receive a portable copy; opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising; and appeal a decision on a privacy request. Additional rights in the EEA and UK can include objection, restriction of processing and withdrawal of consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Exercise applicable rights through the choices provided in the Services or email femtonfilm@gmail.com. We may verify identity and, where an authorized agent acts for you, request proof of authorization and any verification permitted by law. We respond within the period required by applicable law and do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Marketing communications

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the message. We may continue to send transactional messages about your order, project or account.

Children

The Services are not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age of majority in their jurisdiction. A parent or guardian can contact us to request deletion of information supplied by a child. We have no knowledge of selling or sharing personal information of people under 16 as those terms are defined by applicable law.

Security and retention

No security measure is perfect. Avoid sending sensitive information through insecure channels. We retain information as needed to manage accounts, provide Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements; the period depends on the information and purpose.

International transfers

Information may be transferred, stored or processed outside your country of residence. Where required for transfers from the EEA or UK, we use recognized safeguards, such as applicable standard contractual clauses, or an applicable adequacy arrangement.

Third-party websites

External websites, social platforms and integrations have their own privacy practices. Review their policies before using them. A link from our Services does not by itself endorse a third party's practices.

Complaints and changes

Contact us with a privacy complaint or to appeal a decision where applicable. You may also complain to a competent data-protection authority where you have that right. We may update this policy to reflect operational, legal or regulatory changes, update the date and provide notices required by law.
